It’s That Time of Year!

Spring training won’t start for over three months, only one of the three ceremonies in the Former Housemates’ Offseason Wedding Extravaganza has gone down, but if you ask me, the season has officially begun. So sing out that tired old tune, AJC:

Hampton is injured.

I’ve got goosebumps!

    Hey Jenny,

Was it Frenchie’s wedding? He was gettin’ hitched in November, right? Although he’s my Future-Second-Husband, I guess I can force myself to be happy for him….for now :)

I’m in Michigan, so obviously no nuptial coverage up here. Seen any photos of him in his tux? Or photos of his Future-First-Ex-Wife in her dress?

Tara, I put all three pics of the wedding coverage on Braves Love. You can click the link in the sidebar to head to my site. :)

      (Sorry for the site-pimping, Jenny.)

        No problem!

And yeah, Frenchy was first . . . he’s the one who set the Wedding Chain in motion.

Thanks for the pics! As much as I’d love to say that she looks like crap and that he looks like he’d rather be anywhere else but there, I can’t! They look happy & cute. Well, he kinda looks like a deer in the headlights in that one shot…. :)

Catie’s the one who looks “deer in the headlights” to me. She may be smiling, but there’s panic in her face. I don’t know if I’d want to marry someone as pretty and popular as Frenchy — I’d always be worried…

Love Brian’s doctored eyes, though. That’s totally unnatural. :)

Is Mike Hampton made of China glass? or paper mache?

    Seriously.

I like the Dugout’s theory that he’s a constantly broken vending machine that steals your money.

Slightly off topic, but since you mentioned the weddings…Heap’s mini-column in ChopTalk was slightly depressing to me. Maybe it was just me. I believe it was the last paragraph that made it even more depressing, but anyway. Pshhh, he thinks he won’t ever hit .333 again. He needs to realize how good he is, instead of pointing out all of the bad things that happened in one season that can easily be turned around with the next. I blame..er..yeah, we all know by now.

And Hammy pulled a hammy, lol.

You’re the second person who has mentioned that column to me . . . I won’t get my ChopTalk until Saturday, but I’m interested now.

I think Heap is probably superstitious. He always talks down on himself because he’s afraid he’ll jinx himself otherwise. A lot of them are like that. Heap just pulls it off more “sincerely” than most.

But honestly . . . if you look at his performance in the minor leagues . . . he never really had a high average (not that high anyway). I’m hoping that he just got smarter and stronger at the major league level, then suffered some injuries that set him back in ’07. Hopefully he won’t let that experience hurt his confidence too badly in the long run.

That’s true. I just hate to see him talk himself down and even if he never hits .333 again, he’s still one of the best catchers in the National League if not baseball. I hope he bounces back in ’08, he just seemed depressed all the time cause he thought he stunk. See Heap depressed makes me sad.
