“Getting To The Dance”

So, were those first few days after Tex arrived fun, or what? How about that one afternoon when Willie made that catch? Other than that, yeah. Dark times. Please enjoy a Frenchy quote that made me laugh:

“We have a team that’s good enough to win the World Series,” he said, “whether we go in as the wild card or win the division. I’d love to win the division, but anybody in here whose ultimate goal is to win the division has got problems.”

. . . Um, really? I understand his point — get to the playoffs any way you can, blah blah, the Mets never lose so fuck it, sure sure – but five games back in mid-August and still holding onto division hopes = “problems”?

I think Frenchy is pissed as hell, finally. He’s been a freaking zombie for most of this homestand, but suddenly, last night, he got the ZOMBIE RAGE working and homered twice. I wouldn’t be surprised if he kept up the pace this afternoon, and I pity any umps who give him bad calls, or pitchers who throw at Heap. Get ’em, Frenchy!

Well, I doubt the Braves can take this division, but it’s still an odd thing to say.

Good to see the Braves actually win one, but damn, can someone send Wickman to an all-you-can eat and let nature take its course?

I keep typing comments about Wickman and having to delete them because they are too mean. I am way beyond loathing him at this point. He just looks so smug, even when he’s sucking.

I swear our “guy who finishes the game” (I don’t even want to invoke the dreaded “c” word at this point) role is cursed forever. Thanks, Wohlers. Thanks.

…Which is exactly why I don’t want my Moylan to become the “c” word. He’s perfectly capable, but I don’t want him to take a nosedive.

Funny thing, and I figured this would be the place to put it instead of an email.

A good friend of mine who watches my cats when I go out of town for an extended period of time and I’ll watch her dog if she does the same. Went to Atlanta recently and to a Braves game. I asked her, to bring me back a shirt from the Ted.

Over the weekend I went camping for almost a week. Anyways, I come home from camping and have a Braves shirt waiting for me(she fed and watered my cats). It’s a bright red one, with the Braves logo on the front, I turn it around to look at the back – and it’s none other than a Jeff Francoeur jersey. lol

    Not what I was expecting..lol

Haa! That’s great. Whenever I see people in Frenchy shirts I assume they’re only casual fans . . . though actually I have one, haha (a red one, too!).

I still contend that I’m the only person in the world who has a Diaz shirt.

I’d have one if I could find one. Did you have it made, Jenny?

Sort of – I got it on the official site, that option where you can put anyone’s name and number on the back of a t-shirt jersey. They only have men’s sizes, though, and usually only large ones . . . my Diaz one is huge, so I can’t really wear it except to sleep in, or it’s more of a baggy Diaz dress.

Awesome. I might have to get a Diaz one…and a Moylan one. Bet you don’t see many of those around Turner Field!
