Behold The Power of Little Edgar

Yeah, I’m posting this every day until we lose:

It could be the power of the Nationals (or lack thereof) that is allowing us to win, but weren’t they on a five game winning streak before they came to Atlanta? Haven’t they been getting more press cred than the Braves all year, for outshining expectations? I continue to have faith in Little Edgar. He’s at least put some kind of powerful curse on Zimmerman’s throwing arm.

Here’s a cute picture of Frenchy and Heap (and Yates) as well, for good measure:

Last year, Labor Day weekend was a nightmare (remember the game where Howard hit three off of Huddy?), but afterward I was able to enjoy the rest of the season. The same thing seems to be happening this year — I’m watching the games without dread this week — but we’re not quite as dead in the water as we were in 2006. Today is Bark in the Park day, so I estimate about 19,309 more Lance Barksdale jokes from Chip. I just hope Skip shows up today — where has he been?

And more importantly, why the heck has Tony Gwynn “joined the team” in the booth?? TBS only has, what, 6 or 7 games left? I don’t get it…..

I guess they’re gearing up for their new postseason contract. Bleh. I liked Tony’s commentary, but man does he have a weird voice (of course, so does Skip).

Tony will be with TBS through their postseason coverage, so it’s not just for now. I wonder why? (He makes some great comments, but his voice is weird. Not as pleasant to the ears as Chip, even if Chip’s an idiot.)

And Cal Ripken Jr will also be joining the broadcast team as well. I didn’t mind Tony to much, but they have to work on him projecting his voice. Being a broadcaster myself, they had his mic turn all the way up and it was till hard to hear him at times.

Either than or I’ve officially gone deaf.

It made me mad that they have Gwynn in there now to practice for TBS’s postseason coverage. They were all “we have to be professional and nonbiased in our coverage”..you could just tell, although Chip still said “we” several times in reference to the Braves. Let the Braves’ fans have their homeboys for the rest of the season… it was a crying shame to have no corny jokes on “Bark in the Park” day, especially with one of the umpires being Lance Barksdale. Skip would have come through so magnificently, or even Joe would have gotten a few in there. Skip has not even been on the radio recently; Mark Lemke has been on there with the Professor, at least the ones I’ve listened to on MLB.com. Mark is doing a pretty good job, but does anyone know what’s happened to Skip?

Yes!! They hardly even showed the dogs! I mean, for such a crappy loss, we could have at least had some cute shots of dogs in the stands.

And I love the Lemmer, too, but I really prefer Skip and Pete to anybody. I hope Skip is okay — I haven’t heard anything, but I’m starting to worry.
