Traumatic Game, But:

Someone has got to please please please make me a video of Heap’s reaction to Frenchy’s catch. That sucker is going right into the Heap & Frenchy’s All Time Greatest Hits library. Which is basically my hard drive. I could just kiss whoever decided to include that in the broadcast, I swear.

Otherwise, shit. Time to go out for a drink, I’ll tell you what.

Make sure you take Wickman with you … get him nice and drunk until he pukes. Then throw him out to pitch tomorrow’s game. I bet he can do no worse than he did today.

wick has been scary the last few days. it all started with that melt down in the 9th inning against the marlins. although he of all the players on the roster doesn’t seem to be the type, maybe he just needs a few days off. the commentators (joe and chip?) today made a good point that perhaps he’s hiding an injury, which is causing him to miss the strike zone (but the ump wasn’t being to helpful, either). whatever the cause may be, our bullpen hasn’t nearly lived up to the preseason hype.

I agree, he doesn’t seem like he’d really be bothered by that outing, especially since Huddy put all those runners on for him, it was understandable that it would end badly.

Ever since the Reitsma days, I tend to assume everyone who’s effing up is hiding an injury . . . I don’t think Wick would do that, either, though. Maybe it was just Colorado? Had he ever pitched there before?

I know. That was so cute of Mac. He was so excited and bouncing around. I must have that video myself. They were supposed to be showing Wickman, but Mac just happened to be beside him and more enthusiastic than Wickman at the time.

oh… and Langy just got traded to Oakland. Willie Harris is getting the call from the minors.

    woo hoo

I am squealing with happiness over this! Not Willie Harris (eh), but finally cutting Langerhans loose.

We gave him a whole season last year, and almost a month this year . . . and nothing (offensively). As a huge fan of Diaz, I’m thrilled to see Langerhans go, though I did once nearly puke from cheering for him really hard after he pulled a home run back over the wall at a game versus the Marlins last year. Good luck in Oakland with the stoners.

They will might have to get rid of someone else if this guy we get in return for Langerhans is to be on the 25 man roster because bringing Willie up will make it 40. Maybe we are going to move someone else that hasn’t been announced yet. Maybe we’re cutting Redman loose.

Yes, I even included McCann’s McReactionn to Frenchy’s catch.

    from the A’s website:

“Langerhans has spent most of the past two years as Atlanta’s starting left fielder, but he came up as a center fielder, and that’s where Geren said he’ll be on Tuesday in Boston….Considered a top defensive outfielder, Langerhans has committed just two errors in nearly 500 chances. He was traveling with the Braves from Denver to Atlanta and will meet the A’s in Boston in time for Tuesday night’s game.”

CF in Oakland, wow. oh, and that must’ve been an awkward flight back to Atlanta.

I can’t imagine anything being awkward for the Robot. Though really I don’t think there’s a team in the majors that he’d have more trouble fitting in with than the hippie A’s.

ha ha ha. well, maybe next time we see him he’ll have long hair and a beard.
